An original Late 1st issue from XMAS 1971 ZEPIV on UK Atlantic [Just a couple of months after 1st release]. Matrix A3/B4. This is effectively the final Red & Plum label version before the big switch to orange and green [note Atlantic sticker on rear]. Note the track Misty Mountain Hop is finally corrected to it's rightful layout! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. The inner sleeve is the exposed flipback original - but not in great condition. 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) Well preserved and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side and one radial mark in Stairway which does sound [see detail]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation per side. Nice quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with really good clarity. By and large a pretty clean player - but not exclusively. When on song - a blindingly good copy with some fabbo audio...By and large a cracking copy with only issue briefly in a couple of spots. California is real fussy - I am only getting the odd static crackle here and there - really nice delivery! Ditto Evermore very nice..[just one solitary click]....You don't usually get them playing a clean delivery like this - extremely impressive...Levee..is like..Omg..awesome. Black Dog - just clean feed. Even the intro to STAIRWAY....which is super tricky to find clean...is dead dead good. BUT there is ONE issue in Stairway..  one-quarter in you get a couple of clicks and a 1 [One] second pulse of distortion [caused by that radial mark]. Looks like someone has performed a heavy needle drop here [100% guaranteed to play through - no skipping]. A shame as the rest of the LP is so damn good [99%+] that I think, although annoying, this is liveable. You don't often actually get to witness Stairway with a clean feed so it is good to hear it clear for once.. [It is so damn popular - it often shows noticeable degradation].  But barring that one noticeable issue - it is superb. PLEASE be SURE you can handle it!
Cover (Vg+) In nice condition with relatively clean surfaces. The interior looks nice without issue. Some edge wear in places -but nothing worrisome. Spine is pretty good.. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg-) I have repaired best I can with tape. It is now structurally sound. But only acceptable condition having ripped and split in places.
