An original late 1st press of BFS on UK Parlophone. Matrix 3N/3N - very 1st cut. Lovely solid pressing - unlike copies from later in the sixties. 'Parlophone' mentioned in perimeter text and recording 1st pub still present. A really well preserved original - not abused like so many other copies. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold cover. Original emitex inner present too. So 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. There's a few slight marks per side - but this baby is pressed heavy...and this means it much less susceptible to wear than later copies. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in a couple of spots per side. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Given the vintage - impressive. I'm getting some clean mono feed - and you can hear well down into the mix. Even the quieter tracks like Moon and Sun play really well. All I can detect is a touch of interference creep into the signal for a few seconds - half way through Moonlight. A couple of clicks as Honey Don't closes out and in again in 'What You Doin' - nothing problematic. And a few crackles in one isolated spot per side - That was it! To be frank - this example is playing much better than average. A great rendition by any standard and much better than what typically surfaces.
Cover (Vg/Vg+) In tidy condition but not up to the standard of the vinyl. Clean front surface with slight creasing on top edge. Some wear to bottom right extreme corner - I have added a bit of tape to strengthen it there. Rear looks nice too no issues. The interior looks smart. Some light edge wear nothing worrisome. The spine is 80% intact and looks good, but fraying/wear at either end [as is common on this title]. Overall the cover retains verygood rigidity.
