Selling this used copy of Murder Ballads by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. It is the first edition from the UK. This is the first pressing that has the parental advisory sticker and the “Murder Ballads Bulletin” fold out lyric sheet. This record could be difficult to find in the US. A lot of copies I’ve seen for sale are missing the fold out bulletin.

The vinyl itself is in Good Plus condition. It has some moments where it has pops or ticks unfortunately. If your record player can adjust the weight of the needle and put it on the heaviest setting, it will noticeably lessen interference from pops/ticks. They mostly happen at the very beginning and end of the record.

During the first half of the first song there’s a scratch that will produce about 5 pops during the first 30 seconds of play, then it goes away, then comes back for another 30 seconds. After that, the record pretty much sounds amazing until you get to the last song.

On Death Is Not The End, pops happen at song start until Shane MacGowan starts singing, pops go away, and then a few more come back to close off the record. Other than that, there’s one random pop on Stagger Lee and some crackling here and there throughout the record on quieter parts and transitions between songs.

Like I said, if you adjust the needle weight to the heaviest setting, it will help a lot and make some of these pops sound less intense and more like crackles. There are no skips. It’ll play all the way through. It mostly sounds like a VG condition record but the very beginning and the end track have ticks.

The outer sleeve is in Very Good Plus condition. It has no splits or rips or stains. It has some corner wear and a crease at the upper opening.

The insert bulletin and inner sleeves are in Excellent condition.
