The Seller is the Original Owner and received this LP as a promotional copy from the label at the time of its release. 

The disc was visually inspected and appears to be in NM condition.  

The cover is in excellent condition, with minimal shelf wear.  It has a gold promo stamp and a title sticker on the front cover.

It has the original inner sleeve, which has creases but no seam splits. It is a plain black plastic sleeve.

(Wikipedia Excerpts)  Depeche Mode are an English electronic music band formed in Basildon in 1980, with the original lineup of Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher and Vince Clarke.  Clarke left the band at the end of 1981. Alan Wilder joined the band in 1982, establishing a lineup that continued until 1995.

In their early years, Depeche Mode had really attained success only in Europe and Australia. This changed in March 1984, when they released the single "People Are People". The song became a Top 10 hit in several European countries, and reached #13 on the U.S. charts in mid-1985, and was a Top 20 hit in Canada. "People Are People" became an anthem for the LGBT community, regularly played at gay establishments and gay pride festivals in the late 1980s.

In July 1984 Sire Records, the band's North American record label, released a compilation album titled People Are People (for sale in this listing).  It included tracks from A Broken Frame and Construction Time Again as well as several B-sides. All tracks are written by Martin L. Gore, except "Work Hard", written by Gore and Alan Wilder. All vocals by David Gahan, except "Pipeline", sung by Gore.

Two of the nine tracks were new to the American audience: the latest single "People Are People" and "Now, This Is Fun", the B-side of the non-American 7" "See You". It was also the first time that the 7" versions of "Leave in Silence" and "Get the Balance Right!" were released in the United States. The album version of "Love, in Itself" was selected for this compilation, but with a "clean" ending, since on Construction Time Again the track fades into "More Than a Party".

The Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired a collection of 2500+ albums from that era, which is now being sold on Ebay. Most are promotional and collectible LPs which have never (or seldom) been played. Many are white label promos, first pressings, and often factory sealed. The collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983, 40 years!  Please check back occasionally to see my new listings.

Grading methodology is as follows:

M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.

NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.

VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.

Seller ships domestically within the United States via United States Post Office Media Mail with tracking. This is the most economical option. Seller will insure packages valued above $30. Insurance does not cover missing packages after they have been delivered to the buyer's address, only damage or loss during shipping. Warping could accur if vinyl records are exposed to heat and direct sunlight, so please make adequate arrangements to safely receive your packages.  If Buyer prefers a faster shipping service, please contact the Seller before completing the transaction to discuss options such as Priority Mail. Per USPS, Priority Mail packages are delivered in 1-3 days.
