This is a First West coast pressing, pressed by Allied Record company.

Issued with custom inner sleeve (picture and lyrics) printed on matte paper.  The sleeve is in excellent condition with no seam splits, folds, creases, tears, etc.

Promotional copies (such as this copy) were issued with a white, rectangular sticker with the wording MADONNA 1-23867 in red lettering, and gold promotional stamp at the top of the front cover.

This original version of the album has a 4:48 version of "Burning Up" with a synth-pop arrangement. On many subsequent pressings, a 3:41 version driven by electric guitars takes its place.

The disc was visually inspected and appears to be shiny and unplayed, in NM condition.

The cover is in excellent condition.  It has a gold promo stamp and a promo/hype sticker on the front.

It has the original custom inner sleeve, which has no seam splits.

(Wikipedia Excerpts)  Madonna is the eponymous debut studio album by American singer Madonna. It was released on July 27, 1983, by Sire Records. After having established herself as a singer in downtown New York City, Madonna was signed by Sire president Seymour Stein, due to the club success of her debut single "Everybody". She became the sole writer for most of the album's songs, and chose Reggie Lucas as its primary producer. Unhappy with Lucas' production outputs, Madonna asked her then-boyfriend John "Jellybean" Benitez to complete the album; he remixed three songs and produced the album's first US Top 20 hit, "Holiday".

The album has an upbeat synthetic post-disco sound, using new technology of the time, including the LM-2 drum machine, Moog bass and Oberheim OB-X synthesizer. Madonna sang in a bright, girlish timbre, with lyrics about love and relationships. To promote the album, Madonna performed one-off gigs in clubs and on television shows in the United States and United Kingdom throughout 1983 and 1984, followed by the 1985 Virgin Tour. Five singles were released, including the international Top 10 hits "Holiday", "Lucky Star" and "Borderline". Their accompanying music videos were released on the Madonna video compilation, which became the best-selling videocassette of 1985 in the United States.

In the United States, the album peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200 and was certified five-times Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It has sold an estimated 10 million copies worldwide. The album was included in Rolling Stone's "100 Best Debut Albums of All Time" list in 2013 and 2022, saying that "it succeeded in introducing the most important female voice in the history of modern music". The album has been credited for setting the standard of dance-pop for decades afterward, and for pointing the direction for numerous female artists of the 1980s.

The Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired a collection of 2500+ albums from that era, which is now being sold on Ebay. Most are promotional and collectible LPs which have never (or seldom) been played. Many are white label promos, first pressings, and often factory sealed. M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.

NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.

VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.

Warping could accur if vinyl records are exposed to heat and direct sunlight, so please make adequate arrangements to safely receive your packages.  If Buyer prefers a faster shipping service, please contact the Seller before completing the transaction to discuss options such as Priority Mail. Per USPS, Priority Mail packages are delivered in 1-3 days.
