Meet the Beatles, the original album edited by Capitol Records in the United States Meet the Beatles" was released on Capitol Records in January 1964 as the Beatles' debut album in the United States. The Beatles' record debut in the U.S. was in 1963, when EMI of the U.K. approached Capitol Records of the U.S., with which the Beatles had a partnership, but Capitol rejected the proposal and released a single and their first album "Introducing the Beatles" on Veejay Records, a minor label. However, it was not a hit in the U.S. at first. After that, Capitol released "Meet the Beatles" as their full-fledged debut album in response to their growing popularity in the U.K. The album opened with "I Want to Hug You," Capitol's debut single and the first number one single in the U.S., and was edited with songs from their second album "With the Beatles" in the U.K. The album sold over 5 million copies and reached number one in the U.S. on both the Billboard and Cash Box charts. It sold more than 5 million copies and was number one in the U.S. on both the Billboard and Cashbox charts. For American fans, it is a very memorable first album that became a symbol of the Beatles' whirlwind that swept through the United States when they first arrived in 1964.
CD = Original Capitol Masters (Stereo & Mono) The CD contains analog master recordings of the stereo and mono tracks from the original 1964 album, edited by Capitol in the U.S.A. The recordings are direct transfers from the original 1960s vinyl recordings, with the noise inherent to vinyl records removed, and the powerful dynamic sound of the original U.S. vinyl recordings restored. The first half of the stereo mix is a basic stereo mix, and the second half is a stereo mix of the first half and the third half. The stereo mixes of the first half of the album are basically based on the original British stereo master, and the songs and performances are divided into left and right, which is a stereo mix unique to the 60's. However, two songs, "I want to hug you" and "This Boy" were recorded in pseudo stereo from mono, as the real stereo was not sent to Capitol. However, two songs, "I Want to Hug You" and "This Boy," were recorded in pseudo-stereo from mono. The mono tracks were recorded in mono from stereo sources, not from the original British mono masters. Therefore, it is a unique monaural source with no difference between the original stereo/mono mixes in the UK. All 24 tracks of the stereo/mono album are analog master recordings that cannot be heard on the current digitally remastered CDs
DVD = Video Album/Audio Album The video album contains originally edited video footage of all 12 songs from "Meet the Beatles. It is a promotional video format, featuring footage from the iconic Ed Sullivan Show and live performances at the Washington Coliseum, the Kennedy Airport press conference, news footage, etc., all in the form of original edits that look back at the time of the album's release. This is a video album of "Meet the Beatles" in the latest version edited in 2023. In addition, an audio album of all 12 songs from "Meet the Beatles" will be recorded in three different sound sources. This is a slideshow of the latest "New Stereo Remix", the original "Stereo Mix" from the 60's, and the "Mono Mix". The newest "New Stereo Remix", the original "Stereo Mix" from the 60's, and the "Mono Mix". The audio selection can be switched even during playback, allowing the user to compare the different mixes.
The History and Transition of the Beatles' U.S. Edited Vinyl Releases The Beatles' full-fledged record debut in the U.S. began with a release on the Capitol label in 1964, when they first arrived in the U.S. The influence of the Capitol label in the U.S., the world's largest market, was enormous. The influence of the major Capitol label in the U.S., the largest market in the world, was enormous, and the U.S. music industry's own customary rules were that "hit singles should be included to increase album sales," "albums should contain no more than 12 songs," and "the number of albums should be limited to 12. The sales policy of the U.S. music industry was to include hit singles in order to increase album sales, and to increase the number of albums in order to increase sales. The basic concept of "no preceding singles on the album" and "mono is mainstream, stereo is sub-par" in the U.K. were ignored, and Capitol's director, Dave Dexter, Jr. He also added equalizer and reverb, changed the stereo image, and even created pseudo-stereo from mono to create different mixes of some songs by having the masters sent to him before the album's release in the U.K. The Beatles were not happy with Capitol's arbitrary alteration policy, and the controversial "Butcher Cover" in 1966 is said to have been a protest against Capitol's original editing at the time of its release. After "Sargent Peppers" in 1967, the content of the albums was unified, but the release of original albums edited in the U.S., such as "Magical Mystery Tour" and "Hey Jude," continued into the 1970s after the breakup, including the red and blue best albums "1962-1966," "1967-1970," and "Rock 'n' Roll. In the 1970s, after the breakup of the band, compilation albums such as "Rock 'n' Roll Music," "Love Songs," and "Reel Music" were released in the U.S., which were planned and edited by U.S. producers. This unique editing policy of Capitol in the U.S., which differed from that in the U.K., continued through the analog record era to the CD era, and analog releases were not only characterized by separate mixes, but also by the unique remastering and cutting of stereo and monaural recordings, as was the case in the U.K. The sound quality of these recordings themselves differed due to their own remastering and cutting. The analog releases were not only distinctive separate mixes, but even the stereo/monaural sources themselves, like those in the U.K., had a different sound quality due to the original remastering and cutting, and were recorded as a unique American "sound. In the CD era, the British original became the world standard and the sound sources were standardized, and the edited albums from all over the world including the U.S. became obsolete. However, the popularity of the original Capitol compilation album in the U.S. remained high, and in 2004 it was released for the first time on CD in a box set on a limited basis. A new CD box set with expanded contents was released in 2014, but all of the recordings were replaced with world-standard recordings based on the 2009 remastering except for some unique Capitol recordings, so the original U.S. Capitol recordings cannot be heard. Although there were some problems with sound sources and editing policies that did not conform to the Beatles' wishes, the many original American sound sources and edited albums created in the analog record era of the 1960s are now digitally remastered and unified, and are a valuable archive of sound sources that are a unique historical legacy of that era.
