I am not going to give a grading, as it is always subjective with used vinyl. Instead, I have given a detailed description of what I see and hear, to help you decide whether it is for you, or not. That said, this is still a relatively rare and collectible Decca pressing, and you can read the feedback comments should you need any more reassurance before bidding.

Audio is sublime. ALL fourteen tracks play flawlessly. The run-ins are near silent and there is NO interference on any of the songs. This is the best sounding original mono copy that I have ever heard. It is clear that this disc has only ever been played on top equipment, to maintain its high audio quality.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________   The vinyl surfaces are in amazing condition and as good as they appear in the photos. Even under halogen light, side 1 is near immaculate, apart from the wispiest of handling lines which vanish in normal light and the surface looks as good as new. Side 2 is similar, apart from two short lines across the fifth track which look as though they would cause a problem, but they only skim the surface and have not damaged the groove. They are visible in the two final photos, so you can see for yourself, but rest assured that they have absolutely NO impact on the perfect sound of the disc.

As you can see from the photos, there is wear around the spindle hole and although this is partly due to the number of plays, it is also as a result of the raised rim on each side which causes the paper to flake off more easily than on the perfectly flat EMI discs (this is a common feature on Decca L.P.'s). There are quite a few, mainly light, alignment trails which are visible against reflected light, and I point these things out because I know that it can be an issue for some people. However, it is fair to say that perfect labels are not always a guarantee that a disc will play without any sound distortion, clicks, or pops. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The 1st issue cover made from thick card, is showing its age but still better than most originals. There are wrinkles and a disc impression but overall it is still in good shape. The spine has perfect lettering. As a first issue it has the characteristic, darkest facial images and the 'Gotta' print error.

The photos are of the actual item. I always use professional, anti-static, cleaning fluid and listen to the whole disc. Professional mailers are always used.

I may have more Beatles records listed right now, so please have a look.
