The original 1968 US pressing of The White Album had 7 song errors on the labels (4 errors on disc 1 (sides 1 & 2), 3 errors on disc 2 (sides 3 & 4)). Upon release of the album, John Lennon noticed these mistakes and had them corrected immediately on future pressings, but not before some of these extremely rare error copies had already entered the marketplace.
My copy is even rarer in that disc 1 has errors, while disc 2 is a corrected disc.
Even odder is that the album number stamped on the front (A1537361) is lower that others with higher numbers that have all 7 errors.
Here are all 7 label song errors:
Disc 1 (sides 1 & 2) Mine has these errors. 1. "Bungalow Bill" instead of "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill" 2. "Obladi Oblada" instead of "Ob-la-di Ob-la-da" 3. "Rocky Racoon" missing the second "C" in Raccoon 4. "Why Don't we do it in the road" without the question mark (?)
Disc 2 (sides 3 & 4) Mine has the corrections. 5. "Goodnight" instead of "Good Night" 6. "Revolution No. 1" instead of "Revolution 1" 7. "Revolution No. 9" instead of "Revolution 9"
Error #4 without the question mark, is the rarest of all the 7. My disc is missing the question mark.
Here is what is marked in the dead wax portion of each disc:
Side 1: SWBO 1-101 J47 #2 Also a triangle with I at the top, AM under it
Side 2: SWBO 2-101 J45"
Side 3: SWBO 3-101 J48
Side 4: SWBO 4-101-J 44 #2
