This ultra rare previously unreleased recording from the late 1950’s is possibly one of the earliest Don Drummond recordings ever to be made. Don Drummond;s classic ‘Green Island’ is well known, but THIS is a very special take of him playing the tune alongside the Jamaican Vibraphone virtuoso and band master of the Alpha Boys School, Lennie Hibbert recorded in the late 1950’s! This take was originally on a dubplate as a special for the Coxsone Down Beat Sound System, then transferred to tape in the early 60’s since then it has been stored in the Studio One tape shed! This almost mythical piece of the history of Jamaican music finally sees the light of day on vinyl around 55 years after it was originallly recorded!
