Up for bid is the Melvins 1993 album Houdini on vinyl. This record was released by Amphetamine Reptile Records and substitutes the original album closer “Spread Eagle Beagle”with the MC5 cover “Rocket Reducer #62.” It also includes an original promotional poster for the album.
To clear up any confusion on the release of Houdini: Atlantic records released the album on CD and Cassette only. Amphetamine Reptile handled the vinyl release, which is what you see in this listing. Please reference Discogs.com for more information on the release of Houdini.
Condition: Let me say this first – if you are looking for a perfect, pristine copy of this album please look elsewhere. This is a used record from 1993 and plays like one. There are some pops and clicks during playback, most notably in the quieter parts of the album, like the verses of “Lizzy.” However, the music plays over the pops for a majority of the record. The intro of “Hag Me” is where the pops and clicks are most apparent and it may even skip on some record players during the opening of this track. Deep cleaning may help remove some of these issues. The sleeve shows regular wear.
As for the poster, it is in fair condition. It looks like it has been hung on a wall or record store window at some point. It has a small hole in one corner and is creased from being folded.
In my experience, few people agree on the condition of any given record. I will give my honest assessment for any used record I am selling and describe the severity and location of any considerable popping during playback.
