EMI pressed up 'traditional' white 'A' label demonstration discs for The Beatles' first three singles.  However, when it came to the promotion for the group's fourth 45 -  She Loves You - for reasons that have never conclusively been identified, EMI didn't press a demo disc and instead standard pressings with a 'Factory Sample Not For Sale' label were sent out to journalists and radio stations.

This gem came from the collection of the late CHARLES FOX; a Jazz critic who for many years lodged at the house of the legendary ALEXIS KORNER.  Being a Jazz critic, it's hard to imagine that Charles would have been sent this disc (or would have been particularly interested in owning it), so it is perfectly plausible that it was perhaps owned by Alexis and then subsequently found its way into one of Charles' boxes by mistake??? Who knows......

As you'll see from the photo, this is unconditionally guaranteed to be the ORIGINAL 1963 UK 1st FACTORY SAMPLE pressing made with a 4-prong pushout centre, so you can forget about having to settle for one of those dodgy so-called "limited re-pressings" (many of which are actually bootlegs) that are flooding the market.

 

A TRULY fantastic double-sider, any fan of The Beatles, the Merseybeat scene or 60s music in general will simply have to have this item in their collection!!!!

Grade (labels): The classic black labels with silver print are in AWESOME condition; absolutely NO wear and just one extremely feint spindle trail on each side!!!  The item was sourced from the collection of the late-CHARLES FOX (a long-time friend of ALEXIS KORNER and a lodger at Alexis' house in London!!!)  The 'B'-side bears the all-important FACTORY SAMPLE label!!! 

Grade (vinyl): Incredibly superb and very strictly graded at MINT. The platter sits perfectly flat on the turntable and the playing surface has a truly wonderful sheen!!!  Of course, with the hyper-sensitivity of modern styli and amplifiers, any lucky winning bidder would need to accept the likelihood of a 51 year-old hunk of vinyl producing a touch of static here and there.  Good luck in finding another one of these nuggets......... they just do NOT turn up that often in this stunning shape!!!!

 

Grade (company bag): This fantastic gem is housed within its ORIGINAL period-correct, green with white print straight-top Parlophone bag with flipbacks in superb crisp shape!!!  The catalogue number is inked to the top right corner.
