Tripsichord Music Box is the First and Only Album by the American Psychedelic-Rock Band Tripsichord Music Box.
When the Band finally released their Record, they already had spent 8 years working the California Circuit (formed in 1963). The Original Formation only managed to release one Single before splitting-up due to their Singer's Draft to fight the poor Vietnamese. The remainders of the Band got together with a new Musician and moved to Los Angeles, calling themselves The Now. Los Angeles provided a chance for them to share bills with The Seeds and Strawberry Alarm Clock, and a new chance to record and release a Single (which did not fare well, as the first one). Faced with the lack of interest the Public was giving them, they decided to once more relocate and San Francisco was the place to go to. There they met Matthew Katz, the man who had brought Jefferson Airplane and Moby Grape to prominence, who got them signed to his Label San Francisco Sounds and insisted they would return to their original name, Tripsichord Music Box. Once again they failed to make an impression and the Band moved to Utah, where they finally broke up, some of the members going on to play Mormon Music and others going on to play on Moby Grape.
Best Tracks - "On The Last Ride", "We Have Passed Away", "The New Word", "Son Of The Morning", "Short Order", "The Narrow Gate" and "Fly Baby". It is a pretty decent Psychedelic Album, some of the Songs might sound a bit unoriginal but it is very well played with very good Musicians. By the time it was released Psychedelia was almost dead, so no wonder no one bothered to listen to them. (The Red Hippie/theredhippie.blogspot.de)
