MAY BLITZ, ‘MAY BLITZ’ SELF TITLED ORIGINAL 1970 UK VERTIGO RECORD LABEL LP –6360 007.

GUARANTEED ORIGINAL, COMPLETE AND A SUPERB EXAMPLE WITH RARE VERTIGO SWIRL BAG

May Blitz is a British heavy rock power trio that was active in the early 1970s.

The group was formed in 1969 by bassist Terry Poole and drummer Keith Baker, the rhythm section of the blues-rock trio Bakerloo, both of whom left the group when guitarist Clem Clempson departed to join Colosseum. Jamie Black joined the group on vocals and guitars but both Poole and Baker left this group as well before it recorded anything, Poole joining Vinegar Joe and Baker Uriah Heep. Then added fellow Canadian Reid Hudson on bass and Tony Newman, who had played with Jeff Beck, The Hollies and Sounds Incorporated, on drums.

After some time playing pubs in the UK, the group signed with Vertigo Records (in the US they were on Paramount Records, and released their debut album in 1970. A second album followed early in 1971 but the group did not see success quickly and decided to disband late in 1971. Black and Hudson, both originally from Canada, returned to their native country while Newman went on to join Three Man Army.

This is an ORIGINAL 1970 scarce UK VERTIGO Vinyl LP for their debut album “May Blitz”.

The album is on the rare White **VERTIGO** Label, with circled P date 1970.

The album comes in its original Vertigo Swirl Poly Lined Printed Bag and is housed in its Vertigo Gatefold Picture sleeve.

The album plays without faults through all the Tracks, with just light background crackle.

Both record labels are in Excellent Plus condition, clean record labels, showing a few light signs of play to each centre, and mild age spots on both labels.

The machine stamper information is as follows, side1, 6360007 1Y#1 111, side2, 6360007 2Y#1 123

Both sides of the vinyl disc is in superb Excellent to Excellent Plus condition, with clean vinyl surfaces to both sides, with nothing more than a couple of light superficial surface hairlines, but no deep scratches or scuffs.

The Vertigo Swirl inner bag is a respectable example, NO writing, tearing, or seam splits, just light creasing and age toning.

The Gatefold Picture Sleeve is in Excellent to Excellent Plus condition. The sleeve is free from handwriting, tearing and seam splits, the Gatefold part of the sleeve is undamaged, as is the reverse.

A very nice example of this 1970 original Vertigo Records album!
