Title: "Chicago Blues Session"Label: 77 Records LA 12/21 (UK Original) Matrices: DW 189-4/DW 190-2     A SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT EXAMPLE - EVERY COLLECTOR'S DREAM!! 

Here on offer is, without a shadow of a doubt, a simply AWESOME set of recordings from legendary Chicago Blues pianists Albert 'SUNNYLAND SLIM' Luandrew and Eurreal "LITTLE BROTHER" Montgomery!!!  Slim worked extensively with the likes of MUDDY WATERS, BIG BILL BROONZY, PEETIE WHEATSTRAW and LEROY CARR.  Little Brother travelled to England in 1960 and cut an LP on which he was accompanied by BRITISH BLUES legend ALEXIS KORNER.

This incredible, 52 year-old gem came from the collection of the late CHARLES FOX; a Jazz critic who for many years lodged at the house of the legendary ALEXIS KORNER. So, whilst there is no way of knowing for sure, it is perfectly plausible that this disc was once owned by Alexis and then subsequently found its way into one of Charles' boxes by mistake??? Who knows......

As you'll see from the photo, this is unconditionally guaranteed to be the ORIGINAL 1962 UK 1st pressing made with machine-stamped matrices, so you can forget about having to settle for one of those dodgy so-called "limited re-pressings" (many of which are actually bootlegs) that are flooding the market.

 

A TRULY fantastic and legendary LP, any fan of Sunnyland Slim, Little Brother Montgomery, Blues, R&B or 60s music in general will simply have to have this item in their collection!!!!

 

Grade (labels): The classic red labels with black print are in AWESOME condition; there is NO wear and just a few very light spindle trails!!!

Grade (vinyl): Housed within its original die-cut paper inner bag, this heavy hunk of magnificent vinyl is absolutely stunning and strictly graded at MINT minus!!!  Sitting perfectly flat on the turntable, the deep-grooved platter is in lovely shape with a strong sheen and it plays wonderfully loud and clear throughout. Of course, with the hyper-sensitivity of modern styli and amplifiers, any lucky winning bidder would need to accept the likelihood of a 52 year-old hunk of used vinyl producing a touch of general noise and static here and there.  Good luck in finding another one of these nuggets......... they just do NOT turn up very often in this shape!!!!

 

Grade (sleeve): Beautiful!!!  77 label sleeves are fully laminated, but notoriously thin.  So, to find one like this is superb EXCELLENT ++++ shape is quite something to behold!  The front in lovely and the back, complete with flipbacks and sleeve notes from legendary Blues historian PAUL OLIVER, is similarly superb!!!
