– Very Good+: just a bit of unnoteworthy shelfwear at corners
Record – Very Good+: some similarly unnoteworthy signs of play (slight scuffs,
a few very light hairline scratches)
Overall - Very Good+: a VG+ copy of a v
rare record; I bought this myself at HMV back in 1992, and only played it a
handful of times back then; you’re unlikely to find a much better version of a
played record (rather than one which was bought for a collection, never played,
and stored in aspic for the last 22 years)
The very first commercial release by Radiohead, an EP which landed in the shops in March 1992. The manufacturing run was limited to 3,000 of each format (vinyl, CD, cassette), and it debuted in the UK charts at number 101. The band has since gone on to bigger things.
All of the tracks on the EP are demo versions, recorded at the Courtyard Studio in Oxfordshire, while the band was still called On a Friday. They changed their name to Radiohead the following month.
Prove Yourself is notable for its U2-esque chord changes and raw sound; Stupid Car is a much slower song, the first of many dealing with Thom Yorke's distrust of vehicles since he and his girlfriend were involved in a car crash; Thinking About You is, as far as I can make out, a song about masturbation.
