18 U.K. NUMBER 1'S.

This box set was released in 2005 to mark the 70th Birthday of the King of Rock'n'Roll. I bought the Box, Mint and sealed, box number 03424, and inside it contained the first record, All Shook Up. For the next 17 weeks the next record was released, I rushed home from work, drove 18 miles to collect the next one. All are individually numbered, there where 10,000 numbered editions.Mine range from as low as 00810, upto as high as 08555, but they are all first editions.There was a bit of a frenzy at the time of release, as record shops just suddenly started selling these, with little or no warning. People panicked, wanted the full set.Some of these records sold on Ebay for over £200 each record, 1 item!. RCA then did the dirty thing, let the collectors buy their 10,000, then they released the exact same thing, but with no numbers, making this medium less exclusive, I think that was bad anyway.

I bought the box, inside was ALL SHOOK UP, the first one, that is numbered 02411, so not the same as the box. At this point, the box was shrink wrapped and sealed. I cut the shrink wrapping very carefully, because I wanted to house the remaining records in the box. They have never been played. I could not call the box mint as it's been opened could I?. Some people sold box sets MINT, SEALED, the whole set, in the box. I wonder how, I had to wait each week to go and but the next one.I kept 13 of the till receipts, I like to do things like that.These will be included with this sale, but they are getting very faded, odd as this set has been stored in the dark from the day I got them.
