Information about this release - This is the long awaited LP vinyl pressing of one of the greatest Japanese skinhead bands Eastern Youth's self-titled full length album originally released in CD only format by SAKAMOTO SHOUTEN(坂本商店) in 1993. Sakamoto Shouten is Eastern Youth's private label. This "S/T" album(CD) was the label's first release. The second Sakamoto Shouten release was "Ookami-no-Utage"(a.k.a. "A Wolf Party") compilation CD in 1994 featuring Eastern Youth, Raiya, Sledgehammer(Tettsui), Ouka and Aggroknuckle. Many E.Y. and Oi/skin fans consider this "S/T" album as their best material. But, the original 1993 CD is very difficult to obtain now. Holy grail of Japan Oi rarity. One Discogs user stated "This was the last of Eastern Youth's Oi! recordings, and extremely rare. Usually sells for $200-350 used."
Important to know, Eastern Youth decided their musical style changed into different, emo-core or heavy indie rock in 1995. From after their 1995 full-length album, Eastern Youth's musical is no longer skinhead or oi style. Only up to 1994 "Ookami-no-Utage" compilation is still in skinhead/oi. Be careful what to get if you want to start collect Eastern Youth records from now.
Must hear album for ALL japanese oi!, skinhead, RAC bands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fantastic patriotic lyrics, great great strong Oi sound.
