First pressing of what has become known as the 'Loud Cut' version, very quickly adjusted to produce a better sound balance with matrices rising to 1/4, 4/4 and finally 5/5. All these variants are regarded as first issues but this pressing, with it's 1/1 matrices is the only one to feature what is undoubtedly a mistake in the mixing of this great album. Paul McCartney's exquisite bass lines, blast from the speakers and are a dominant sound on most of the tracks, sometimes pushing the other instruments into the background *
The Vinyl
Visually: Both sides have retained most of their original gloss lustre - no groove dulling or whitening - there are some careless handling lines/marks throughout, mainly only visible against reflected bright light
Audio: Clearly played on good equipment, this copy shows no appreciable deterioration in quality with crystal clear sound and very quiet run ins - no crackle or background interference - the majority of tracks are fine, including the easily damage 'Michelle' - there is the odd and sometimes repetitive, very soft pop in places but these are mainly overpowered by the volume of the tracks - no loud clicks, skips or stalls - a great sounding copy

The Labels
Superb pair with vibrant text - KT tax code embossed - a little age toning on the black areas - no writing or damage

The Cover
Genuine first issue, with deepest colour toning to the laminated front panel - fairly tired all over, with laminate wrinkling - the back is grubby and does have some writing at the top - however, the cover is completely intact and the spine text is fine

The Inner Sleeve
Correct, rice paper lined, Emitex - rare 'Made In England' (without 'Patents Applied For') - totally intact - age toning
