Out of my personal collection, changing tastes and new baby…

Beautiful USA Blue Note NY pressing - heavy card cover and vinyl in magnificent shape by the leader of the free jazz movement Ornette Coleman. He changed the game in the late 50s on Atlantic and kept progressing, stretching, pushing the boundaries of jazz further across a series of revelatory albums, this firmly included. All Music review: “'s 1965 trio with bassist and drummer is easily the most underrated of all his bands. Coming off the light of the famed quartet in which , Eddie Blackwell, and shone, anything might have looked a bit dimmer, it's true. But this band certainly had no apologies to make. was deep into creating a new approach to melody, since and had honed his harmonic sensibilities. proved to be the right bassist for to realize his ambitions. A stunning arco as well as pizzicato player (check his solo in "Dawn") offered the perfect foil. No matter where 's soloing moved the band, was there at exactly the same time with an uncanny sense of counterpoint, and he often changed the harmonic mode by force. The first of these two volumes from December 3 shows in a playful, mischievous frame of mind, toying with the trio ads well as the audience on "Faces and Places" by inserting standard bop phrases and song quotes into the heart of his free soloing. On "Dee Dee," moves along to rhythmic counterpoint by , pushing into the unlikely role of beat-keeper -- not simple for such an amazing improviser. But it's on the closer, "Dawn," that the band gels as one inseparable, ethereal unit, cascading through scalar invention and chromatic interplay as if it were second nature”.

Cover EX, slightest ring wear bottom front, and minor rippling back bottom, vinyl NM – it doesn’t get much nicer, incredible copy!

Hassle free returns and money back, if you are unhappy in any way please email me, I try my best to list accurately, play graded and under strong light, cheers!

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

NM: Played a handful of times, several of the faintest hairlines only, perfect sound, full gloss and sheen, cover near new in every way.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, tiniest dusting of superficial hairlines only, playback excellent. The cover and packaging might have very slight wear/most minor cosmetic wear only.

VERY GOOD+: Perfectly acceptable, plays with no skips or jumps, no feelable marks, hairlines, and other superficial scratches may be evident on the vinyl but sound quality and fidelity still excellent, may have the odd pop and crackle only. Cover will have normal wear, seams and corners in tact, some age deterioration.

VERY GOOD:The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch, some may be feelable but will not sound in repeat-tic manner. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable, may have minor seam or other tears but still acceptable integrity.

GOOD:The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and feelable scratches that may tic or jump. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR:The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, jump etc. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced. Collector piece only.
