For auction one of the great rarities of British Psychedelia "Ice Cream Tree/Julius Caesar" by the Midlands based band Breakthru'. A successful live act they made just this one 45 before splitting up - with bassist Frank Farrell going on to join Supertramp during their early prog years.
Ice Cream Tree is a typical driving slice of '68 Brit Psych, that odd blending of nursery rhyme and lunatic asylum. It features a happy whistled refrain throughout and yet the chords and keys let us know something much weirder is going on.
"Ring-a-ring-a-Roses I can see/Lets all dance round the Ice Cream Tree"
It wasn't a hit though its inclusion on a psych compilation in 2007 saw its reputation restored and other unreleased Breakthru' recordings then brought from the vaults and made available after four decades. However this remains their one official release from the period and it rarely is offered for auction. Here is one such opportunity.
The vinyl is still bright and shiny with some short hairlines here and there but nothing serious. The labels are unfaded and free from writing rips and stickers. The disc still retains its original Mercury Records (UK) company bag.

The start price is low and there is no reserve.
