From the late 1970s to 80s (with a brief return in the late 90s) Blondie became one of the most commercially successful US new wave and punk band. Led by singer Deborah Harry (what an awful name), “Heart of Glass” was their first US #1 hit. Throughout the group’s career Deborah Harry’s fame grew beyond the band, often being referred to as Blondie, which led to other members of the band leaving. Not nearly as popular, The Wind of Willows was Deborah Harry’s first band in the 1960s. The group’s style was characterized similarly, as rock and psychedelic, but I hear also an impressionistic style of late Beatles on drugs. The band did not receive much commercial success and broke up soon after their first release. (a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL  AS  (WEAK) NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs -  are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible,  and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new (MINOR SCUFF NOTED ON 'SO SAD', NOT EXPECTED TO BE AUDIBLE)

 

(b)            The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

 

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

 

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

 

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2.

 

-        Cover has a neat, round PROMO cutout hole in one of the corners

 

-         Visible shelf wear noted on the spine

 

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the top and bottom seams (nothing significant)

 

-         Cover has two corners slightly dinged (nothing significant)

 

-         Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine
