About: FZ and the Mothers Of Inventions third release...and one of his finest. This is the original release, FZ re-recorded and re-released in 1986 on Ryco Disc. On early pressings, record label execs, without Frank's knowledge or permission, censored several lyrics and lines. Thus the 'Censored' and 'Uncensored' versions. After the mess was resolved, FZ left the cover the way it was until he re-released it years later. TRIVIA: Eric Clapton is the voice you hear on 'Are You Hung Up'. Jimi Hendrix, a friend of FZ, is found on the Parody shot. FZ called McCartney for permission to parody the SGT. PEPPER cover, but he said that was what he paid his managers to handle, which FZ replied that he should tell THEM what to do. Record execs feared a lawsuit over the parody cover. The album was delayed in releasing for 5 months because of the cover controversy, resolved by putting the parody on the inside, making FZ very unhappy. Kenny and Ronny are real people FZ grew up with, 'Kenny Makes The Water Turn Black' is based on true stories.

For track titles, please use close-up feature on labels, cover etc. in the supersized photos.

Records have been cleaned with the Spin Clean Record Cleaning System, have received new acid-free archival quality inner sleeves (old sleeves will be included) and a new poly protective cover.

Dealer Dave's Record Grading
I base my visual grading on the industry standard GOLDMINE system. I'm pretty critical of marks and lines so I do play and test the records. I will check any suspect lines and marks so you can buy with confidence there is no skipping or excessive noise.

MINT (M) Record, cover and all inclusives are absolutely perfect. Rarely used grade if at all.

NEAR MINT (NM) A nearly perfect record.
Record- It should look like you just bought it and took it out of the shrink wrap. The vinyl looks glossy and clean with no signs of wear or major factory defects.
Cover- The jacket is clean with no wear marks, ring marks or seam splits. Inserts, posters, lyric sheets etc. are equally in this condition. No cut-outs.

EXCELLENT (EX) Record will show some signs that it has been played and otherwise handled by an owner that took good care of it.
Record - You may see light marks where the vinyl has been in and out of the inner sleeve a few times. Light scuffs, inaudible light scratches, or slight warps are acceptable, but nothing that compromises the listening experience. Minor spindle marks may be present, but no widening of the hole due to repeated play. Label may have some wear or discoloration, but not that noticeable.
Cover- Cover should look appealing with slight signs of wear. Expect some edge wear such as wear from sliding in and out of a shelf, light wear from storing next to other records, light ring marks, small splits in seams (no more than 1-2). Cut-outs are acceptable. Inner sleeves, picture sleeves, posters, etc. will show some light wear such as slight seam splits, and turned up corners.

VERY GOOD (VG) Very Good graded records has more obvious imperfections than Excellent.
Record- Expect more noticeable scuffing, scratches that you can feel if you run your fingernail lightly over them, visible groove wear, lack of original luster on the vinyl, pronounced warps. Heavier spindle marks may be present. There will be audible scratches and ticks, some background noise and heavier cracks or pops in the quieter parts, but overall, still not enough to discourage the average listener.
Cover- VG covers will show more wear from handling. Also expect light ring wear marks, split seams that may not be that obvious until inspection, taped seams, some staining, writing, price stickers. It would be acceptable to most collectors to frame a VG cover because it will still look decent at a short distance.

GOOD (G) Probably not a record that you will want to listen to much unless it is rare
Record- Lots of obvious use. Heavy visible wear including possible label wear. Very pronounced visible scratches and scuffs. The record will play without skipping or getting stuck, but unless it is a rare or hard-to-find record, will be noisier than you would like.
Cover- G covers will have heavy ring marks, dirt, heavy writing, obvious seam splits, heavy stains, taped repairs, ink fading, etc. The best way to put it...you wouldnt want to frame and display this one.

POOR (P) The difference from Good and Poor are as follows:
Record- Unplayable. Cracked, horribly warped, nasty. Dont damage your needle on this.
Cover- Heavily damaged.

Buy your vinyl with Confidence from Dealer Dave, here's why:

Where Dealer Dave records come from
Unless noted, my records come from my personal collection. I was the store manager of COOP Records in Gainesville Florida, a job I had during college in the 70's. I also bought a few collections from friends who also didn't mishandle their records.

I Visually Grade and Play the records I sell
The best photograph of vinyl won't accurately show its condition. I visually grade each record under very bright lighting. Then, because Im dealing with 100s of records not 1000s, I play each record. I play the entire record or I will listen to any visible scuffs or scratches, quiet areas and random loud areas so I can give as accurate a description as possible.

I play on an AudioTechnica LP1240-USB turntable with a Shure M97xE Audiophile Cartridge ($100). I generally use the dynamic stabilizer feature tracked at the recommended 1.75 grams. Bose speakers/sub.

All Dealer Dave records are cleaned and protected for you
Before grading, very record from Dealer Dave is cleaned using the Spin-Clean System. It's not a deep cleaning system, but it does a great job getting a lot of surface dirt and crud off records. Any additional cleaning is up to you. Then, every record gets a fresh new acid-free archival-quality paper inner sleeve (original sleeves are also included), and a new poly Cover Protector. You get MORE from Dealer Dave!
