BEE GEES, etc. "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER" 1977 original U.S. RSO double gatefold LP w/"Stayin' Alive", "Night Fever", "How Deep Is Your Love" + 12 more . Featuring Yvonne Elliman, Tavares, the Trammps & others. RSO Stereo RS2-4001 VG+/M-.

The Bee Gees, a group consisting of 3 English brothers that were transplanted to Australia, has been around since the early days of the British Invasion & had already recorded several memorable records. But when oldest brother Barry Gibb discovered that he could sing in falsetto, they never looked back. They came up with two #1 records- "Jive Talkin'" in 1975 & "You Should Be Dancing" in 1976 & were naturals to do the soundtrack album for the disco-oriented film "Saturday Night Fever" starring John Travolta. And did they deliver! 3 #1 songs by the Bee Gees- "How Deep Is Your Love", "Stayin' Alive" & "Night Fever" plus a #1 by Yvonne Elliman with their song "If I Can't Have You" plus Tavares went to #32 with "More Than A Woman". But the LP also contained other classic disco hits such as "Disco Inferno" by the Trammps & "A Fifth Of Beethoven" by Walter Murphy. "Saturday Night Fever" went on to be a smash film & this album became the biggest selling soundtrack of all time.

15 tracks- Stayin' Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman), A Fifth Of Beethoven (Walter Murphy), Jive Talkin', K-Jee (M.F.S. B.), Calypso Breakdown (Ralph MacDonald), More Than A Woman (Ravares), Night Fever, Boogie Shoes (K.C. & The Sunshine Band), Disco Inferno (Trammps), You Should Be Dancing, Open Sesame (Kool & The Gang), More Than A Woman & Manhattan Skyline/Night On Disco Mountain/Salsation (David Shire).

Gatefold cover is intact & retains its original look & feel with no writing or split seams. There are minor blemishes that look like fingernail marks on the left side of the front cover & minor edge wear especially on the corners. Overall the cover rates a VERY GOOD+ grading. Very few plays on this record. It looks & sounds great with no scratches (just a negligible hairline on side 1, track 3 that does not affect play) or scuffs- rated near MINT. Complete w/2 near MINT custom inner sleeves that list track information- 3" split seam on the bottom, center. The beige & red RSO labels are intact & indicate that it is an original U.S. pressing from 1977.
