You are viewing an auction for The Beatles "Meet The Beatles" vinyl LP - Capitol Records ST 2047 - original stereo issue.

This is the very first issue of "Meet The Beatles." This first version was released in early 1964 and the labels lacked the publishing print for each song (BMI or ASCAP). According to Beatles' publications, the initial 200,000 copies were pressed without the BMI or ASCAP notations. After these 200,000, those publication items were added to the labels.

Today, only a few hundred have been verified to have survived and of those, only about 60 to 75 stereo copies have been verified (according to Perry Cox).

This example also has a correct near mint minusĀ cover with no spine orĀ  seam splits, no writing, no stickers, etc. There is a "3" on the back cover next to the RIAA symbol and no "Produced by George Martin" is present on the back cover. There is a very small tear on the spine that is barely noticeable. Also, some very slight shelf wear on the front cover.

The vinyl is beautiful! Visually grades near mint. The dead wax indicates that this is a Scranton pressing - thus coinciding with the "3" on the back cover.

The labels are also in excellent unmarked condition.

Also includes the correct royal blue Capitol Records inner sleeve.

PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED WITHIN 5 DAYS OF THE END OF THE AUCTION.

Buyer pays $25 for shipping and handling.
