Brief Artist & Album Info:

Alvin Lee (born Graham Anthony Barnes; 19 December 1944 – 6 March 2013) was an English singer and guitarist, best known as the lead vocalist and lead guitarist of the blues rock band Ten Years After.

He was born in Nottingham[1] and attended the Margaret Glen-Bott School in Wollaton which was a precursor to comprehensive schools with grammar and secondary modern streams. He began playing guitar at the age of 13. In 1960, Lee along with Leo Lyons formed the core of the band Ten Years After. He was influenced by his parents' collection of jazz and blues records, but it was the advent of rock and roll that sparked his interest.

Lee was named "the Fastest guitarist in the West", and considered a precursor to shred-style playing that would develop in the 1980's.

Lee died on 6 March 2013 in Spain. According to his website, he died from "unforeseen complications following a routine surgical procedure". He was 68. His former bandmates lamented his death. Leo Lyons called him "the closest thing I had to a brother", while Ric Lee (no relation) said "I don't think it's even sunk in yet as to the reality of his passing". Billboard highlighted such landmark performances as "I'm Going Home" from the Woodstock festival and his 1971 hit single "I'd Love to Change the World"

"Alvin Lee and Company" is the third compilation album by Ten Years After released by their old record label Deram after they had switched to Columbia Records. It consists of songs that didn't make it on the older records and a few alternative versions of old songs

CONDITION

LABELS: The DERAM Labels are are both in Beautiful condition. There are no Spider or Spindle marks visible. There is no Writing or Tears anywhere. I will grade them as EXCELLENT+!!!!

VINYL: Plays throughout absolutely Superb with no Pops, Clicks or Jumps. The record still contains that glossy sheen though there are several surface marks, light scratches (Non Feelable) and thumbnails to be seen, these in NO way interfere with the superb sound quality. This Album plays up to and  beyond its high visual grading with hardly anything of note to fault. It offers strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear – sound quality is very high with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound. A typical polished production from Yes. Minimal surface sound and no tracking issues. This play-grade proved a real pleasure when playing this fast disappearing album, this being the first example I have had for some time, and possibly the best all-round one for me yet. It will prove quite difficult to find a significantly better copy and merits a very strong recommendation. I would grade both sides as EXCELLENT!!!!

COVER:

The Cover is a Front Laminated format made in England by "Sencol Printing Limited". The Cover Design is by Farmlett, Barsanti and Wood Inc.Photography By (Cover Photo) Jeff Mayer

The Cover does show some slight signs of age. There are some Laminate Ceases showing,These are not Splits or Tears. The Spine is in great order with all writing readable. The reverse has a couple of light creases . The opening edges are in very good order. This cover is incredibly difficult to find in Excellent condition simply because of it's design and age. However I would be happy enough to grade this as Very Good+!!!!

COVER SUMMARY: Not seen often. This one is in decent condition. This classic cover (As Described) should please Many collectors.

INNER SLEEVE: The Plain White Inner Sleeve UK Patent NO.1072844. Made In England R.s. 1-78 . Is Graded as Very Good+!!!!

Album Played For Grading: I play/grade ALL records I offer before submitting, I also play them in their entirety unless clearly stated otherwise. I do NOT play snippets or joining grooves to check for sound quality and quietness I play from the beginning to end. I use a Linn LP12 Sondek turntable with Ittok Mk II arm and Ortofon Quintet Black moving coil cartridge and Linn Lingo, with my Linn system and Forest Totem Speakers. This system is guaranteed  to pick up any distortion or interference within the sound.

Grading: In my opinion I REFUSE to believe that there is ANY record that can be truly graded as Mint, the BEST that could be offered is Mint- (minus)!!!! Especially so from the 50's, 60's, 70's or up to the present date!!!! Even copies bought new today would have some form of imperfection on the Record or Cover!!!! Under that assumption I will NEVER use the word Mint in any of my descriptions and Mint- is the HIGHEST grade I would ever use. So I will only offer Excellent, Good or Poor with a -(minus), +(plus) or ++(plus, plus)!!!!

Bid With Confidence: I take great care and pride with what I sell and offer a FULL money back guarantee, in the unlikely event of the buyer not agreeing with my description. As long as the item is repacked and returned to me in the same condition it was sent.

Postage: All of my records will be professionally packaged. I use Dependapack Vinyl Record Mailers that have locking tab closures with strong locking tab record wraps. I also use corrugated record stiffeners and extra strong tape marked with Handle With Care. This is to ensure your Valuable Record/s are protected whilst in transit. I will add a nominal fee of .40p to my postage and packaging for this service. Any Record valued at £100 or more I would prefer to send by Special Deliver/International Signed For.
