Townes Van Zandt self titled Orig 1969 Poppy Label
Vinyl is NM and appears unplayed. There’s not a mark. There is a ton of gloss and the labels are gorgeous (see pics).
These original Poppy pressings all play with a high noise floor. This is not crackle from dust or wear, but rather just the way the vinyl was pressed. This copy also has a few very minor pressing blemishes/imperfections that cause a very low level thump for several rotations. These last a few seconds and are gone and are absolutely minimal and non distracting. There are a few per side. There are no clicks, pops or tics otherwise. The overall sound of this record is staggering. Van Zandt’s guitar and vocals rise far above any inherent surface noise. There is nothing that comes close to these original Poppy pressings for sheer presence, realism and tone.
The jacket is VG++ and has minimal wear. There is a 1 1/2 inch seam split on the top and the beginning of a smaller 1 inch split on the spine. Includes the original Poppy inner.
I ship records in mailers designed to protect the corners.
