This is the rare original 1971 release of the Yardbirds' Live Album with Jimmy Page (later with Led Zeppelin) and Jeff Beck on EPIC Vinyl LP E 30615. It was recorded in 1968, but the group was dissatisfied with the recordings and objected to its release. Epic later released it in 1971 after Page became famous with Led Zeppelin but without the band's approval so Page took legal action to prohibit them from distributing it and they quickly withdrew it.
The album includes familiar Yardbird songs, often with longer and very creative instrumental solos. If you love Led Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused," the track "I'm Confused" is its predecessor and arguably the highlight of the album - along with some different lyrics to help convince you. Listening to it is like finding a new version of one of your all-time favorite songs that you've never heard before. Doubly amazing since this was an early example of recording a live rock concert with only a single microphone hung above the drums.
The Album cover is still glossy and very solid. It has some edge wear, primarily on the top, but little corner wear. The front has a light crease in the upper left corner, and some slight record rub at the top. The back is NM- with just a slight puckering near the top.
The Record is NM- with a few minor scuffs and very slight scratches. I play-tested it and can only be lightly heard in-between a couple tracks.
As a Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin fan, I had found this piece of history a joy to listen to. An outstanding example of a great performance captured in time!
