Miles Davis, world famous trumpeter and band leader, invented more styles of music than you can keep track of. With the release of "Bitches Brew," a 1970 Columbia double vinyl LP, GP26, he essentially created fusion. With Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinal (later making Weather Report), Lenny White and Chick Corea (later Return to Forever), John McLaughlin (Mahavishnu Orchestra) and other well known players such as Bennie Maupin, Jack DeJohnette, Harvey Brooks, Dave Holland and Larry Young, Miles crafted a new music on cuts such as Pharaoh's Dance, Bitches Brew, Spanish Key, Miles Runs the Voodoo Down and others. A fantastic album. The cover is worn but not bad for it's age and the records crackle and pop a bit at the beginnings of sides but don't skip on my turntable. "Miles Davis at Fillmore," a Columbia double vinyl LP G 30038, is a live recording of 4 nights in a row at the renowned Fillmore East - each side a night's set, edited by his producer Teo Macero. Recorded and released in 1970, it features many of the themes from "Bitches Brew," with a smaller band, some of them the same players. He has Chick Corea and Keith Jarret on keyboards, Dave Holland on bass, Jack DeJohnette drums, Steve Grossman on soprano sax and introduces Airto Moriera, later with Weather Report too, on percussion. This is challenging music and the 2 LPs from 1970 show Miles changing music and spawning several very influential bands. The cover of Fillmore is more worn, as you can see in the photos, but the records are in the same shape as "Bitches Brew" - some crackle, particularly at the beginnings, but no skips. These will be shipped together in a record box, Media Mail.
