Elijah wyman played 100's of shows a year mostly throughout the northeast US in the early 2000's earning him a small fanbase that mostly came to see the young songwriter perform without amplification in modest venues.  Elijah Wyman's records and merch were all handmade by the artist and often released in extremely limited quantities.  Why We Never Go Swimming was released in 2005/6 with little fanfare more than sold out local shows in massachussetts and handfuls of patrons purchasing records live.    Elijah went on to get very sick during the release and recording of this record, and while not his last solo effort, it was the begining of the end for the artists' live performance ambitions due to health reasons.  The owner of the label releasing this record (grinding tapes) would go on to donate a kidney to Elijah, saving his life. This is well documented in a boston globe article about the enigmatic label owner, jason rozen, creator of Seer Group and many other outsider works that are deeply cared for by a tiny group of friends.

Later, wyman's band Decent Lovers would go on to tour the east cost in the early 2010's but never with the same vigor and intensity of the early years of solo touring.

Today a small number of collectors maintain most of elijah wyman's discography as well as countless live bootleg recordings that don't really leave private servers.  Finding any physical proof of this american songwriter is increasingly difficult. Most of the works' originals have been lost by the artist.

301 of these records were pressed total in 2005/6 timeframe:
1 master
100 gold vinyl
200 black vinyl
