Up for auction is this unique pressing of Gilberto Gil's debut album on Philips 'Louvação'.
I'm confident to grade NM for both vinyl and sleeve. It's been rarely if ever played. Well, i've played it once! Spindle marks show absolutely no wear. The sleeve is weirdly mint. I bought a copy of his London-exile album that was in freakishly similar condition. It's 100% an original pressing of course.
At a guess i'm thinking this may have been a 2nd pressing from around 1971 (when the record was released specially in the commemorative magazine 'Já e Gil') or possibly even an exclusive pressing to Europe. The original pressings from 1967 have a thin paper card sleeve, loose sheets that were assembled inside a plastic sleeve. This one has a thick all-in-one card sleeve, and the label on the record looks similar to the Já e Gil edition.
So to summarise this is NOT a first pressing.
Any other questions please ask, good luck!
