A rare treasure, this much-revered collection of brilliant recordings by the inimitable Geiseking seems to have never been played (delicate cellophane inner sleeves are in original condition, and all discs are crisp and clean MINT beauties!). This is the numbered FIRST EDITION (#F-42), with a fine, illustrated, 20-page book on heavy stock, bound with a silk rope. The box, is covered in royal purple silk moire with gold-embossed lettering, the spine is library-worthy. The top panel of the box bears a 2-square-inch liquid stain that has had no ill-effect on the box's integrity, the covers show slight sunfading, and the corners are scuffed (bearing the movement of its nine-pound frame!). In all, this is a museum piece, ready for its place as a showpiece in any classical audiophile's collection---66 years old, and never surpassed in musicality or design. BID WITH CONFIDENCE!
