The original mono issue of this great record, on Philles Records, PHLP-4006
There were few soul LP's that had any consistency in quality of content, but the Ronettes' debut long player was among the best put out in the period. Highlighted by the landmark "Be My Baby," with Phil Spector's perfected "Wall of Sound" production, Hal Blaine's iconic drumming, and the group's mesmerizing vocals, the record would be noteworthy in the pantheon of early soul LP's for this inclusion alone. That "Walking in the Rain" and "Baby, I Love You" are also here only heighten its standing as such.
