Für sein sechstes und neuestes Deutsche Grammophon Album kehrt der Pianist Seong-Jin Cho zur Musik von Frédéric Chopin zurück. Seine dritte Chopin-Aufnahme für die Deutsche Grammophon trägt den Titel „Chopin: Klavierkonzert Nr. 2 - Scherzi". Für dieses Album kooperiert Cho mit dem London Symphony Orchestra und dessen Dirigenten Gianandrea Noseda, mit dem er in den letzten fünf Jahren eine produktive und anregende Zusammenarbeit genoss. Seong-Jin Cho erlangte internationale Aufmerksamkeit und Kritikerlob durch seinen ersten Preis beim Warschauer Chopin-Wettbewerb 2015, gefolgt von einer Studioaufnahme, die Chopins Klavierkonzert Nr. 1 und die 4 Balladen vereint. Auf diese letzte Chopin-Veröffentlichung folgend präsentiert Cho die für ihn logische Fortsetzung des Repertoires – ein Programm bestehend aus Chopins romantischem Klavierkonzert Nr. 2 und den vier Scherzi. For his sixth and latest Deutsche Grammophon album, pianist Seong-Jin Cho returns to the music of Frédéric Chopin. His third Chopin recording for Deutsche Grammophon is entitled "Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 2 - Scherzi". For this album Cho collaborates with the London Symphony Orchestra and its conductor Gianandrea Noseda, with whom he has enjoyed a productive and stimulating working relationship over the past five years.
