For your consideration is a rare vintage 10 inch 78 rpm by Rudy Vallee and His Connecticut Yankees entitled The Drunkard Song b/w The Tatooed Lady. Drunkard Song is typically found paired with Lost In A Fog and is a pretty standard novelty record of the period. However, when Vallee was recording the first take of the number, he inexplicably bursts into laughter during the second verse. The take ended up being so much funnier than the actual song itself, Victor decided to release the take on a custom label, meant to recreate the original test pressing in which an executive wrote to Rudy asking that it be released to the public, to which Rudy replies simply OK. Rudy later explained that his band members were making faces at him during the session and were all around simply being humorous. It's a genuinely funny record and doesn't come up too often. Nice one!
All of our old shellac and vinyl 78 records are packed with utmost care and precaution so as to ensure they arrive to you in the same condition in which they were shipped out. I have extensive experience shipping 78s. For an in depth explanation of my shipping methods, see the bottom of this page. All items will be shipped within 3 days of purchase. All good faith offers thoroughly considered.
Keep in mind that for the highest fidelity reproduction results, a correct sized, well maintained stylus should always be used and antique records should also always receive a deep cleaning with a stiff bristled brush and a non-alcohol based soap. I do not provide grading beyond what is required by eBay. If the photographs prove insufficient, do not hesitate to reach out with a question, as well as any other type of inquiry related to an item.
All 78 rpm records, vinyl or shellac, will be shipped sandwiched between either thick cardboard or some spare 78 rpm discs to provide substantial reinforcement for uneven pressure placed on a package during shipment. The record sandwich is then suspended in packing peanuts on all sides. Packing peanuts are the optimal durable memory material as they will insulate your item against any acute forces such as a fall or any type of blow and unlike bubble wrap will not pop and lose their shape if subjected to a strong force.
