This Record Store Day, US label Mochilla are reissuing a record that first landed in 2010 but has been out of print for five years. The Timeless Series captured the enduring impact that various different artists had on the world do ship hop. It is all live music that features orchestrated performances by Ethiopia's great Mulatu Astatke and famous Brazilian star Arthur Verocai. There is also the mesmeric Suite For Ma Dukes, which is a tribute to her son, James "Dilla" Yancey, by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. What a collection for funk lovers who also appreciate their history.
