This three-disc, 60-track set features a nicely varied collection of pop hits from the 1960s, including the Byrds' "Eight Miles High," Billy Joe Royal's "Down in the Boondocks," the Animals' "It's My Life," Booker T. & the MG's' "Time Is Tight," Chuck Berry's "No Particular Place to Go," and Desmond Dekker's "Israelites," among many others. Some of the heaviest hitters of the decade are absent here, though, like the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, the Who, and the Rolling Stones, no doubt due to licensing or cost issues, but what is collected is still cool and nostalgic fun. ~ Steve Leggett
