Joseph Haydn String Quartets 20, 64, 34, 42, 50, 76, 77, 103 Aeolian String Quartet
3 Box Sets/16 LPs
The records look to be in near mint/beautiful condition, though they may benefit from a clean.
The box shows a little wear, the booklet is excellent.
Records are visually graded, according to the Record Collector magazine grading system.
These records come from the collection of John Job, former managing director of the EMG Gramophone Company.
EMG were a British company that produced very high quality hand-made gramophones from the 1920s to the 1970s.
Such illustrious people as Fredrick Delius and Laurence of Arabia chose EMG as their gramophone of choice!
In
addition to this, the company published a very highly regarded monthly
review of the best classical music recordings called the 'EMG Monthly
Letter’.
John Job wrote many reviews for the ‘EMG Monthly Letter’ and
many of the records in his collection were review copies he had been
given and according to his son Richard, many of the records have only
ever been played once or twice.
I will be listing many box sets of classical music from this wonderful collection in the next few days, which can be viewed in my other auctions .
