The Velvet Underground & Nico - Unpeeled, The Norman Dolph Acetate LP
Scarce & long deleted UNPLAYED EU VINYL LP reproduction of the legendary "Norman Dolph Acetate", also known under the title "Unripened". This release contains the band's first attempt at recording their debut album, recorded in April 1966 by egineer/producer Norman Dolph (at the time employed at Columbia Records), who cut two acetates of the finished recordings & presented them to Columbia for posssible release, which the company instantly refused. One acetate copy was since owned by drummer Moe Tucker and the other one went missing until it was rediscovered at a Garage Sale in NYC in 2002 and eventually sold to a collector. These acetate versions are completely different versions/mixes, compared to those that were eventually released as the band's seminal 1966 debut album on Verve Records.
Comes on transparant red marbled vinyl.
