On offer here a Superb original RCA Victor Living Stereo Luxury Soria Series 3-LP Box Set from 1962--the early glory days of American Stereo recordings. Set, in Near-Perfect Condition, offers a complete traversal of the legendary chamber music performances organized in August 1961 by Maestro Heifetz and his long-time, most cherished collaborators including Piatigorsky, Primrose, Pennario, Israel Baker, Arnold Belnick, Gabor Rejto, and Virginia Majewski. Superlative accounts here of Mozart's String Quintet in G Minor, K. 516, the glorious Mendelssohn Octet for Strings (it never sounded better!), Brahms' superb String Sextet in G Major (in perhaps the warmest and richest recording on vinyl!), Schubert's magisterial String Quintet in C Major, and the awesome Franck Piano Quintet with Leonard Pennario utterly deft and commanding at the keyboard. Even better each one of the albums here appears little played and are mostly First Stereo Editions with Rare First Pressings. Disk deadwax mechanically stamped: 1S (Side 1), 1S (Side 2), 5S (Side 3), 3S (Side 4), 1S (Side 5), and 1S (Side 6) indicating First or Very Early Pressings from the original masters. Visual inspection shows disks retaining a high-gloss vinyl sheen on all sides. No visible imperfections at all, a few whispy hairlines inaudible on playback is all. Play grading of all disks shows why we treasure 1S/1S exemplars: sound is so sharp, so clear, and so transparent--a true credit to early RCA Stereo sound engineers and recording technicians. All Disks sound as if pressed yesterday, just a very few light ticks here and there. Luxury hard-case 3-LP Box Set with inner cardboard sleeve for all disks is Near-Mint as well, ultra-clean, all seams intact, Not a Cut-Out. All Inner plastic-lined, RCA paper sleeves are original. Huge, richly illustrated 33-page booklet of liner notes is Pristine and Intact. Overall, a superlative copy of this great, legendary set demonstrating what a charm it is to hear great, deeply sympathetic virtuosi make chamber music together. Note additional shipping cost for this heavy item.
