RORY GALLAGHER "DEUCE" Original U.S. 1972 LP (Atco) w/promo sticker. SD 7004 VG+/MINT!  10 Blues Rockers from the ace guitarist & singer.

In the tradition of Cream & the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the late 60s were a time for the Power Trio & Ireland's best known group, Taste was no exception. But guitarist & lead vocalist Rory Gallagher soon grew tired of the heavy, quasi-psychedelic format & left the group after only 2 studio albums & a much acclaimed live set to pursue his interest in a more Blues based sound. Although keeping with a 3-piece lineup of Guitar, bass & drums, Rory Gallagher now focused more on roots based American Blues even in his own compositions. In his day, Rory was certainly prolific- "Deuce" was released just 6 months after his debut solo LP in 1972. It is generally considered to be his best studio album containing such gems as "Used To Be", "In Your Town" & "Crest Of A Wave" though all 10 songs are quite good. Unfortunately, Rory met a premature death in 1995 but his reputation has continued to grow in the ensuing years. He is now considered one of the top guitarists of all time, certainly the best to come out of Ireland. This LP from 1972 was recorded when he was in his prime & is not to be missed.
