From the greatest era of Mercury Living Presence Stereo recording, production, and pressing (1962), here on offer the masterly Antal Dorati's traversals of Mozart and Haydn Masterpieces: Mozart's great Symphony No. 40 in G Minor and Haydn's tempestuous Symphony No. 45 in F Minor, the Farewell. Provided here via a rare early edition disk of exceptional quality. Original Mercury Living Presence Stereo Heavy-Gauge Vinyl Disk, U.S. Pressings, Serial No. Stereo SR90280. Deadwax hand-engraved CTFR-1(Side 1) and CTFR-1 P 17 (Side 2). Thus Early Edition and Early Pressings. Disk is in remarkably fine condition for its age. Close visual inspection under bright light shows retention of high-gloss vinyl sheen on both sides. Side 1 near-flawless. Side 2 a few minor sleeve scuffs inaudible on playback. Play grading shows super-bright and clear Mercury Living Presence Stereo sound shining through. Side 1 sports very quiet disk surfaces with just a very, very few light ticks. Great orchestral ambiance. Side 2 registers a few more light ticks but nothing to detract from overall and exceptional Mercury sound quality. This was an audiophile-grade recording at its time of production and remains so today. Interior audiophile, plastic sleeve not original but in Near-Mint condition. Jacket also Near-Mint presenting high glossy front and fully intact rear and seams. Not a Cut-Out.  Thus a highly collectible exemplar of one of Dorati's greatest recordings with early Mercury Stereo showcasing the inimitable, Mozartian panache and intense, Sturm und Drang Haydn playing of the London Symphony.
