ITEM DESCRIPTION:
I bought this brand new when released. From searching Discogs, I believe this to be the 1981/1982 UK MONO 2-LP "The Beatles" (The White Album) 100% analog re-issue. The clarity of this MONO pressing is impressive.
Matrix / Runout (Stamped)
Side 1: XEX 709-2 4 3 (Discogs variant 1)
Side 2: XEX 710-2 4 5 (Discogs variant 1)
Side 3: XEX 711-4 8 2 (Basic number matches variant 1, but "8" and "2" single numbers indicate a different variant)
Side 4: XEX 712-2 2 4 (Basic number matches variant 1, but "2" and "4" single numbers indicate a different variant)
Issued in a double-pocket gatefold sleeve. Cover has "The BEATLES" raised-embossed on the front. It is not serial numbered. Jacket has "The BEATLES" and "Stereo PCS 7067-8 Mono PMC 7067-8" on the outside spine. Included are four 8x12 inch glossy pictures of each Beatle on light cardboard (rather than photo paper) and a six-11x11inch-panel (folded) fold-out photo collage with song lyrics on the poster backside. The Apple record labels are: MONO "PMC 7067" (XEX.709 and XEX.710) and MONO "PMC 7068" (XEX.711 and XEX.712). ℗ 1968.
I bought this LP new at "Crazy Larry's" 40 years ago and played it only a few times on my high-end turntable / cartridge, primarily to record it to tape. The gatefold cover has never been folded open, and the shrink-wrap was never removed (I had cut it at the slot to remove the contents). The store price tag and "MONO" sticker are still present on the shrink wrap. The LP inner sleeves are on plain white paper and dated "11/80." The album was stored vertically in a dry smoke-free environment since new. For this listing's photographs, I did not clean the LPs. The two vinyl abnormalities I saw (see photos) are: 1) 1/4 in. (almost invisible) smudge on 1st tk side 2 "Martha My Dear." and 2) a 1/4 in. scratch 1st tk side 4 (Revolution 1). To test potential audio affects of the smudge/scratch, I played and recorded both of the affected tracks in their entirety (see video snippet). Somewhat surprisingly, the scratch isn't noticeable to my ears, and the smudge area has only a few dust-like clicks that may or may not be due to the smudge. I am inclined to believe that both were manufacturing artifacts, since I don't recall ever making them. The records and labels are very clean over-all, and even without a professional cleaning and with the occasional dust click, the vinyl portions I played sound very smooth and quiet.
The photos and posters were never used, so they are in nice shape. There are a few signs of record-ring wear on the jacket and photos, and a few scuffs and thumb-nail bends on the poster (see photos). To photograph the poster, I did not completely unfold it in order to preserve its condition. From a dry smoke free environment.
*DISCLAIMER NOTE: These items are from my personal collection, and I have described them to the best of my ability as a consumer. I am not a record dealer, and I have made no attempt at grading. I also did not put things under a microscope or play the entire album, so I cannot guarantee anything beyond what I have photographed and described. Please look at the photos/descriptions and address any questions/reservations with me prior to bidding. I am selling this "AS-IS," a product warranty is not implied, and I don't accept returns. All photos show the actual items.
Payment must be completed within 4 days to avoid unpaid item status and order cancellation.
PACKING:
This item is already packed for prompt shipment via UPS in accordance with this listing (see photos). The records are placed in brand-new MoFi Original Master anti-static sleeves-- separate from the original record sleeves and album jacket. The contents are further protected inside new transparent outer sleeves within the album shipping box, which is sealed inside a plastic bag. This interior record shipping box is then double-boxed in a larger outer box with packing peanuts. The outer box is reinforced with fiberglass and brown shipping tape. Note: To protect the contents, please be careful when removing from the packaging.
SHIPPING:
Ships to US Customers only (48 contiguous states only & no PO Boxes) via UPS Ground or UPS Expedited services, which are the most reliable services from my location. No other shipping options, locations, or changes are offered (see "IMPORTANT CHANGES/PACKING/SHIPPING NOTE" note below). USPS services, including Media Mail, and FEDEX services are not offered. They have unfortunately proven to be unreliable in my area. I realize that the shipping cost can be a significant portion of the final cost, especially for long distances, so I ask that buyers consider the sum total of all charges as the "final cost" when bidding. The buyer is responsible to pay the eBay-calculated charges shown at purchase for the chosen UPS service. In other words, the buyer’s final cost = selling price + shipping price shown at purchase for the selected service + any applicable taxes collected by eBay. Local delivery is not offered. Combined shipping is not offered. Please address any questions or issues with me prior to bidding. Thanks. JimR24.
IMPORTANT CHANGES/PACKING/SHIPPING NOTE:
This listing includes significant effort by me to pack the item efficiently for safe transport (see photos). I do not intend to reopen or re-do any packaging. If any change to existing packaging or a different shipping address is requested by a winning bidder (including places UPS does not deliver), without having cleared it with me in advance, I will have to charge a $25 repackaging fee, the difference in postage, and 2-days of additional repackaging time before I can ship the item. If you have any qualms with this listing that I cannot address to your satisfaction, PLEASE DO NOT BID!! Selling to an unhappy buyer is a complete waste of time! This item is from my personal stuff, I am not a record dealer, and I don’t accept returns. Thanks! JimR24.
