ABOUT THE RECORD Rise, by singing duo René & Angela, was their last release for Capitol Records. The album includes the R&B ballad My First Love which was released in early 1983, the song gave them their biggest success up to that point reaching No. 12 on the R&B chart. The song was later a hit in 2000 in a cover version by Avant and singer Keke Wyatt. Banging the Boogie was also a Top 40 R&B hit.
