This is the first copy I've ever had but, not surprisingly, I've been told this is a common issue with this design. Please see the pics for details. 

On a much more positive note, I'm glad to say the vinyl is much different story. Visually, it's superb with a nice shine and nothing in the way of obvious marks. I've played this all the way a couple of times and audibly, there's the odd bit of background crackle here and there but very strong throughout.
