Artist: The Cure

Background: ‘The Top’ is the fifth studio album by English rock band the Cure, released on 4 May 1984 by Fiction Records. The album entered the UK Albums Chart at number ten on 12 May.  Shortly after its release, the Cure embarked on a major tour of the United Kingdom, culminating in a three-night residency at the Hammersmith Odeon in London.

Format:  This is a signed 12” LP sleeve of the 1984 album, that has been signed in various inks by Robert Smith, Porl Thompson, Lol Tolhurst, Andy Anderson, Phil Thornalley.

Signing details

Robert Smith – lead vocals, guitars, six-string bass guitar, keyboards (1978–present). Robert has signed his first name at 8 o’clock on the LP cover, in a large format signature in a dark blue biro-style pen.

Porl Thompson – guitars, keyboards & saxophone (1984–1993, 2005–2011). Porl has signed his first name at 5 o’clock on the LP cover in a dark blue biro-style pen.

Lol Tolhurst - drums keyboards, drum machine & percussion (1978–1982, 1982–1989, 2011). Lol has signed his first name ‘Laurence’ at 3 o’clock on the LP cover in a red biro-style pen.

Andy Anderson – drums & percussion (1983–1984, died 2019). Andy has signed his first name at the centre of the LP cover with a small signature in a dark blue biro-style pen.

Phil Thornalley – bass (1983 – 1984). Phil has signed his first name and initial at 7 o’clock on the LP cover, in a dark blue biro-style pen.

The signatures are simply stunning of the classic era band! I am grading all the signatures 8/10 with no evidence of fading and they look amazing framed!

This has recently come back from my framers so assume the frame and hangings are in excellent plus (+) condition.
