Producer : Ed Wodenjak, Recording Engineer : Bert Whyte (of Audio Magazine fame)
Mastering Engineers: Stan Ricker, Richard Simpson Console circuit designed by John Curl
Program:
Side One : Toccata, Adagio & Fugue BWV 564: JS Bach.
Side Two: Toccata & Fugue in D minor BWV 565: JS Bach
Toccata from the Symphonie Concerante: Joseph Jongen
The D minor Toccata & Fugue is one of the best known pieces of Western Classical Music, having been extensively used in movie scores including Fantasia, & given the jazz treatment by Jacques Loussier & pop treatment by John C Williams & his pop group Sky. The Adagio on side one has some of the quietest passages ever cut to an LP, & you need at least a moderately resolving high end playback system to reproduce it - in inferior systems it will be obscured by surface noise & rumble. Do not turn it up, otherwise the louder passages will overwhelm you, & you may end up blowing up speakers +/- amplifiers.
Performance, well it's a matter of taste, but this is one of the best sounding organ LPs I have heard.
Played sparingly, only a handful of times, on high end equipment.
See photos for condition of cover & disc - original inner sleeve replaced by a Musicway antistatic sleeve.
There is a gap in the label for side one due to sticker removal.
Selling as this is my second copy.
PRICED TO SELL - on day of listing (January 17, 2024), I have seen copies in the USA sell for up to AUS$130
Will wrap in bubble wrap & ship in sturdy LP mailer
