Rare 1963 Vee Jay 498 Please Please Me 7” 45 Single.

This was released in the spring of 1963 with the corrected print to reflect the “BEATLES” spelling as the previous earlier “Vee Jay” release from February of 1963 misspelled the band name “BEATTLES” on the label. These corrected versions from 1964 actually turn up less frequently than the other versions. Please check completed auctions to verify this.

A rare piece of Beatles History as this was the very first release on Vee Jay with the correct band name on the label that wasn’t initially successful. Two more releases “From Me To You” on Vee Jay and “She Loves You” on Swan would also not be successful 45’s until after The Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in early 1964.

This title was reissued with a different catalog number after Beatlemania took off in February of 1964.

This is the oval logo variation with thick print lettering on the song titles. The record plays through without skips or major pops but is not mint. Has been enjoyed back in the day and was probably played on a typical teenage phonograph. That being said, it’s still an enjoyable play but the value here is in the rarity of this record.

There is a faint date and name written in pen on the a side label (please see close up photos). Item is exact item as seen in photos and being sold “as is”.
