Up for sale is a 1965 original stereo pressing of Dexter Gordon’s classic album, “One Flight Up”. This album contains the 17 minute post-bop epic “Tanya”.

Pressing information:

New York labels that list no address. Plastylite “Ear” in deadwax, which means this is a pre-Liberty Records era pressing. Stamped “Van Gelder” in deadwax.

Condition:

Record: G+

This record is quite nice. Very glossy, with only a few light scratches. Might could benefit from a deep clean, but not bad at all. Record plays beautifully, with only light surface noise and zero skips/repeats.

Cover: Fair

The cover suffers from pretty severe water damage. The front cover has lost some of the artwork on the bottom, but fortunately most of the cover photo is intact and no text was lost. There is some water standing, but fortunately, due to the front cover artwork being brown, the staining is not too noticeable.

The back cover is in a little worse condition, with some of the rear slick missing and some more severe staining. There is also some leftover damage from the cover getting stuck to another cover. There is also some writing.

Bottom cover has split and has been taped. Top cover has started to split. Spine is intact.

So this is an overall solid playing copy. Not a particularly nice cover, but not as bad as it could be.
