This is a collection of live recordings comprising eight albums, two of them double albums, making ten vinyl discs in this offer. They come in a bespoke box from Rhino/FooEEE with the album titles printed on the underside, and the music dates from 1968 to later in Zappa’s career. It was compiled and released in an attempt by Zappa’s estate to wrest back the copyright on various bootleg recordings.
The photo-limit here restricts this listing to pictures of the front and rear of the album covers, the box from various angles, and both sides of one disc where one side has unfortunate scratches. The button and tee-shirt included originally are not present. It is a used item, though some of the discs appear unplayed. The photos show the albums in the order in which I found them in the box (rather than by the sequential label numbers), indicating previous use. Further photos of the discs themselves and close-ups of cover details are available on request – just message me for them – they’re all waiting for you. The final photo here is a close up detail of one cover mentioning coloured vinyl – ALL THE VINYL HERE IS BLACK despite what the sleeves may say. A separate tracklist is also available if you can’t see them in the photos. Here is a list of the records and my amateur gradings of discs and covers. My gradings ere on the side of caution to avoid possible criticism – the condition of the discs is often (will be) higher than I grade them. I notice that other sellers grade the covers highly if unsplit, even if there is obvious colour-rub and creases. I will grade them lower if there are any marks.

3. R1-70538 Single FRANK’S MOTHERS. The Ark 1968. Vinyl VG, Cover NM. Side One scratched.

8. R1-70544 Single. PIQUANTIQUE. Stockholm 1973. Vinyl M-, Cover FN (slight colour-rub).
The box itself has a different catalogue number from any of the records (R-70907). This entire imperfect used Zappabox pack weighs 2.4kg, so that would be £9.79 for a first class signed medium parcel at the post office (although ebay will only let me charge £9.50 max). Msg me before bidding if you wish to alter the postage arrangements.
A note about price, condition and other similar offers. I notice other listings use Discogs photos or just post one photo and a sparse description, which, since they are asking in excess of £300.00, involves a lot of trust for a used item. There was a second edition of Beat The Boots which contained a beret and a scrapbook (eBay item number:166832966621) which the seller wants almost £100.00 for – COFFEE STAINED AND EMPTY – no records included! A very similar offer (used, no records included, eBay item number:296795297224) offered by auction at $89.00 plus vat $17.80 plus postage $34.32 which is £110.00 at time of writing. A factory sealed new version of this item (eBay item number:276477126960) is listed for $600.00 plus $47.94 postage – so over £500.00. Here’s your chance to acquire a limited edition object of desire fairly cheaply. Happy bidding.
Free postage offers do not necessarily apply to combined packs. Most of my mailings use around 43g of packaging (comics or booklets) or 110g (book mailers), and the descriptions usually include a gross weight so you can check postal prices. When combining items, note the full weight of the first item, and then subtract 40g from the weights of each subsequent item being combined (or 100g for books) – and in most cases that will be the new weight of your combined pack.
