Pre-fame, independently released copies of 39/Smooth and Kerplunk have been held in high regard and relentless demand by fans and collectors alike. Green Day dropped Dookie in 1994, and the sweet smell of success made them a household name. Fans started clamoring for the early indie records, which you neighborhood record stores not coincidentally had relegated them the dreaded and overpriced back walls which in turn drove up their value, along with every new multiplatinum Green Day album and MTV video premiere.
Green Day 39/Smooth LP  2nd Pressing (Berkeley Edition) Vinyl Condition NM, Sleeve NM- VG+++ w/ only a small dent on spine.  Slip and Inset are NM Lookout Records #22 Matrix:  LOOKOUT 22-A BILL, MIKE, JOHN : LOYAL FILTHY GROUPIES L-34891 WE ♥ JAKE / LOOKOUT·22-B CALL BACK TOMORROW, IT'S A SCHOOL NIGHT C-34891X An amazingly well preserved, 2nd /3rd pressing of Green Day's notoriously scarce 1st LP.  Reprinted in 1992 by Lookout Records after the band's move to Berkeley, with the updated address on back cover.  (1st edition was pressed on both green and black vinyl sometimes designated 1st and 2nd pressings,  however many sellers combine the releases as both 1st pressing) Super rare find, only commonly found in heavily played condition. One of their best albums to date still.  :)

Cover, slip, and insert are NM Lookout Records #46 Matrix:  (Side A): LOOKOUT-46-A kdisc JG C38645 Matrix:  (Side B): LOOKOUT-46-B kdisc JG C38645X A 1991 1st edition Kerplunk with vinyl in VG++, and Sleeve NM.  Along with the sleeve,  the lyric insert, and record slip are NM as well.  This is a wonderful collectors item, and great investment piece
